Regional success: Outstanding achievements at the Herts County Athletics Championships

On Saturday 6th June, 36 of our pupils represented the school with distinction at the Herts County Track & Field Athletics Championships, held at Jarman Park. Despite competing in highly adverse weather conditions, the squad demonstrated exceptional resilience and determination, culminating in a series of superb individual performances.

A number of our athletes achieved the ultimate distinction of being crowned County Champions. In the hurdles, Isabella secured victory in the Under-17 category, earning qualification for the prestigious English Schools Championships in July. She will be joined at the national championships by Noah, who won the Under-17 Pole Vault, and Isaac, who claimed the title in the Under-20 Pole Vault. Further county titles were secured in the field events by Jonathan in the Under-17 Hammer, Ben in the Under-15 Boys Hammer, Imogen in the Under-15 Girls Hammer, Charlie in the Under-15 High Jump, Georgia in the Under-13 Shot and Logan in the Under-13 Javelin.

Special recognition must also go to Harry, who delivered a highly impressive dual performance to finish as the runner-up in both the Under-15 Pole Vault and Hammer events. The school extends its warmest congratulations to all the pupils who competed so admirably, showcasing both their sporting talent and exemplary character on the county stage.
