Historic achievement: School celebrated with prestigious Platinum Games Mark

We are absolutely delighted to announce that our school has officially achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year. 

This is an incredible milestone for our community. The Platinum Mark is the highest possible level of accolade, awarded only to schools that have successfully sustained a Gold level for three consecutive years. Looking back through our records to 2015, this marks the first time in our school’s history that we have achieved this prestigious level of recognition.

The School Games Mark is a government-led scheme launched in 2012 and facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust. It rewards schools for their unwavering commitment to developing sports competition both within the school and across the wider community. To qualify for the elite Platinum tier, we had to demonstrate rigorous excellence across several key areas, including broad participation across all ability levels, a strong presence in local inter-school competitions, a dedicated workforce of pupil leaders, volunteers, and officials, and an extensive network of extracurricular sports clubs.

Our PE department and staff work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide both local primary and our pupils with an outstanding provision of sport and leadership. This success is a true team effort, driven not just by the PE department, but by all the staff members who generously offer their time and support to run and officiate clubs and initiatives. A huge thank you goes out to everyone whose hard work, enthusiasm and support made this historic achievement a reality.

We are immensely proud of our pupils and staff for setting a new benchmark for sporting excellence.
