19th JuneAthletic squad clinches overall district championship title
Our school community is celebrating an extraordinary achievement following the District Athletics Championships, where our track and field team secured first place overall out of 15 competing schools. This hard-earned victory against formidable competition is a testament to the dedication, resilience and sportsmanship demonstrated by our pupil-athletes.
Approximately 90 pupils represented the school at the meet, delivering a multitude of top-three finishes and outstanding individual performances. The collective effort across all age groups culminated in the school lifting the prestigious Overall District Championship trophy.
The foundations for this historic victory were laid by exceptional performances across several year groups. The Year 7 Girls, Year 9 Boys, Year 10 Girls, and Year 10 Boys all won their respective divisions overall. Driven by these dominant results, the boys squad also secured first place in the overall team standings.
The track events featured numerous thrilling moments, most notably in the relay events. Both the Year 7 and Year 10 Girls relay teams secured first-place finishes, propelled by exceptional final legs from Jojo and Lottie, who both executed outstanding anchor runs to seal their respective victories.
In addition to the team success, three individual athletes established new benchmarks by breaking district records and achieving remarkable heights in their respective disciplines. Noah set a new district record in the Pole Vault by clearing an impressive 4.15 meters. Isabella also etched her name into the record books, setting a new district record in the Hurdles. Meanwhile, Charlie S delivered a superb performance in the High Jump, clearing a height of 1.73 meters.
The coaching staff expressed immense pride in the entire squad, noting that the triumph was well deserved given the pupils' consistent commitment to training and improvement week after week. Congratulations to all 90 athletes who represented the school with such distinction and brought home the district title.
