Lanzarote 2026

Our recent trip to Club La Santa, Lanzarote, was nothing short of a triumph. Bringing 40 pupils to one of the world’s premier sports resorts for pre-season training was an ambitious undertaking, but the group rose to the challenge with exceptional grit and a positive attitude. The week was defined by high intensity, technical growth, and a fantastic sense of camaraderie. The core of the trip focused on a rigorous training schedule designed to push our athletes out of their comfort zones.

Pupils committed to two structured training blocks every day, focusing heavily on refining technique and building a solid foundation for the upcoming season. Beyond their primary events, athletes were encouraged to experiment with new track and field disciplines, broadening their skill sets and discovering hidden talents. While the track was the main focus, the trip provided ample opportunity for the squad to bond through competitive play and relaxation.

The Padel and Mini-Golf tournaments became highlights of the social calendar, sparking friendly rivalry and a lot of laughs. In a moment of true sporting enlightenment, the team participated in an "expert" yoga session led by Mr. Conway. Whether it was a display of master-level flexibility or just a very good effort remains a point of debate, but it certainly helped with recovery and team morale!

What truly set this trip apart was the outstanding character displayed by the pupils. Facing the Lanzarote heat and a demanding physical schedule, they showed incredible resilience by pushing through fatigue during the second session of the day. They displayed determination and a willingness to fail and try again when mastering complex new techniques. Most importantly, they supported one another, fostering a culture of encouragement across all age groups.

The progress made on the track was matched only by the growth in team spirit. These 40 pupils represented the school with distinction, proving they are ready for the competitive season ahead.
