Lanzarote Training Camp 2025

During the first week of the Easter holidays, from 3rd - 10th April 2025, a group of dedicated student-athletes travelled to Club La Santa in Lanzarote for an intensive Warm Weather Training Camp, led and supported by our committed PE staff, to whom we extend our sincere thanks.

The primary focus of the trip was athletics, with students working hard to prepare for the upcoming 2025 Regional and National Finals. Warm weather training offers unique advantages, including improved conditions that allow for longer, more effective sessions - and often, a more enjoyable experience overall.

Training took place twice daily and included both fitness and technical work, with particular attention paid to field events. Sessions were held on a professional six-lane 400m track, and students were inspired by the chance to train in an environment that has previously hosted Olympic and World Champions.

The week concluded with a team pentathlon, where students put their hard work into practice in a friendly but competitive setting, showcasing the skills and progress they had developed over the course of the camp.

Beyond athletics, students also made the most of Club La Santa’s world-class facilities, which include a heated Olympic-sized swimming pool, a leisure pool, tennis and basketball courts, a 5-a-side football pitch, and a fully equipped fitness room. These extras provided the perfect balance between focused training and recreational fun.

Well done to all students for their dedication, and once again, thank you to the PE staff for organising such a rewarding and enriching experience.
