Year 9 F1 Engineering Club Visits DK Engineering
On Wednesday 8th January, Mr Miall led the school’s Year 9 F1 Engineering Club on a very special, albeit short, journey. The group travelled just "down the road" to visit our neighbours, DK Engineering, a world-renowned specialist in automotive restoration and sales.
Despite being located right next to the school, the facility opens up a global world of high-performance machinery. DK Engineering is internationally recognised for their expertise in blue-chip collector cars, with a particular focus on Ferrari.
The visit provided our aspiring engineers with a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at high-end automotive engineering. Pupils were able to see first-hand the level of precision, skill and mechanical knowledge required to restore and maintain some of the most valuable cars in the world. From the workshops to the showroom, the group learned how mechanical theory is applied in a premier professional environment. It was wonderful for our pupils to discuss a variety of Engineering Careers with staff at DK.
It was an inspiring afternoon that showcased the incredible engineering opportunities that exist right on our doorstep. Thank you to the team at DK Engineering for welcoming us and providing the club with sponsorship throughout the year, and to Mr Miall for organising this fantastic opportunity.
