Sporting Success at SCD

We had a fantastic all school sports day earlier this month, with the weather on our side and the students enthusiastic and raring to go for the first time in two years. It was wonderful to see everyone eager to participate and support their fellow team mates and friends.

The overall winner of the day was Lincoln – but this was no easy feat with heavy competition from the other houses.

Some key highlights from the day were the Year 10 Pentathlon winners, there was a fantastic performance by George Hawkins in the 800m to take 1st place with Louise Catignani who made a last push to take the win for the girls.

Well done and a big thank you to the PE faculty and all the teachers involved in ensuring it was an action packed and fun filled day for all.

County League

We have had an excellent County League Athletics season with all for teams reaching the League Final, which no other school achieved.

The Year 7 & 8 Boys finished 3rd with Oscar Barrett in Year 7 starring in Hurdles & Shot Put, making him this year's Junior Boy Athlete of the Year. Tom Robertson & Zak Ridgeway were very valiant runners up in their events.

The Year 7 & 8 Girls finished 3rd. Polly Cardy received Junior Girl's Athlete of the Year for her contribution to the team running 1500m and came 3rd in the finals as a Year 7 running in the Year 7 and 8 age category.

A huge congratulations to Nisha Evans who has won every Javelin competition she's competed in this year.

The Year 9 & 10 Girls finished 6th with Alana Ashby, Georgie Christophorou and Yona Ramphort winning their events.

The Year 9 & 10 Boys produced a fine display to finish second behind Hitchin Boys who were National T&F Cup Finalists:
