A great start to the season for Girls' Football Teams!

The Year 7 and Year 8 girls’ football teams have all made a fantastic start to the season and it was great to see over 40 new Year 7 girls at the trials this September! The Under 13 A team have made a positive start to both County Cup and National Cup competitions, beating Marlborough 2-0 in the county competition and travelling to London to beat Mossborne Community Academy in the National Cup 2-1.

The U13 B team have also made an impressive start to their district league campaign, being the only school with a 'B team' the girls subsequently always play against another school’s first team. The girls put in a determined performance against St Michael's, resulting in a 2-1 victory. There were particularly excellent displays from the defence by Izzy, Rose and Emily, and player of the match was awarded to Poppy in goal.

Both the A and B teams had games against Watford Girls most recently, the A team playing in the district league and the B teams playing a friendly. The A team secured a 6-1 win and the B team were unlucky to miss out after a resilient performance, losing 2-1.

Next week, the A team will travel to Kingston Grammar in the next round of the National Cup.   We are hoping their good form continues.

Well done Year 7 Footballers! A fantastic start to the football season!
