English Literature students watch RSC live screening of Hamlet

Year 13 English Literature students were fortunate enough on Thursday 10th November to attend a Royal Shakespeare Company live screening of 'Hamlet'.

The students are studying 'Hamlet' for the Edexcel English Literature 'Component 1' drama paper. They had completed pre-work with their English Literature teachers on representations of Hamlet, which was intended to further their understanding of characterisation, dramatisation and  the interpretation of language within the play.

The students then attended the live screening which was streamed to the conference rooms adjacent to the Barbirolli Hall. The RSC production was an African spin on the traditional Shakespearean play. It featured interviews with the actors, as well as question and answer sessions in which the cast and production crew interacted with students.
