A trip to the Old Vic!

The year 10 and 11 GCSE students, who have been studying ‘A Christmas Carol’ as part of their English curriculum, were fortunate enough to go and watch a dramatised version of Dickens’ novel at The Old Vic Theatre in London.

Despite Christmas being over, the play was very enjoyable for the students; it enabled them to refresh their memories of key quotations and the plot itself which mirrored the novel closely, acting as a great visual aid of Dickens’ characterisation in relation to their upcoming exams, be they GCSEs or mock exams.

Furthermore, the play was interactive and some of the students were lucky enough to get involved by throwing props, such as plastic fruit and vegetables, down to the stage to the talented actors.

Overall, it was an extremely entertaining evening for the staff and students and the free mince pies went down a treat!
