Parents' Association

St Clement Danes School Parents' Association relies on parent volunteers from across all school years to raise funds for every aspect of school life.

We are proud to say that this joint effort has provided textbooks, practical equipment, resources and revision guides for every school department. We have also been asked to fund a huge range of Music, Drama, Tech, PE, SEN, pastoral and extra-curricular resources.

Volunteering

Parents are most welcome to join the committee, which aims to make fundraising fun and time-efficient as possible - or to volunteer at individual fundraising events.

We all work, many of us full-time and would welcome more help, even if you only have a couple of hours available every couple of months for events.

Events

Among the annual events organised by the Parents' Association are our Comedy Night (October) Winter Market (November) and a Quiz Night (February). We also run Second Hand Uniform Sales three times a year, host the Welcome to Year 7 evening for parents and can often be found selling refreshments at school productions and concerts, Sports Day, Open Day and other school events.

Monthly Subscription Draw

We hold a Monthly Subscription Draw with prizes awarded monthly, quarterly and annually, providing 17 separate chances to win.
Anyone (over 18) can buy up to five tickets/shares, priced at £1 each.Prize draw winner6

Each month the PA randomly selects a winning ticket. SCD receives half of the money raised from each draw and the other half goes to the winner. Your tickets are also automatically entered into quarterly draws and an annual draw.

Monthly prizes are usually between £150 - £200, quarterly you could win £300 - £400 and the annual draw winner will receive around £600 - £800, although this has reached four figures in the past.

The draws generate in excess of £2,500 a year in funds for your children; the more people that buy shares, the more money the PA can raise.

Easy Fundraising

Secondly, there is a source of absolutely FREE MONEY if you can manage a one-off 5 minutes to set up the easyfundraising app on your device for any online shopping you do. It will cost you nothing but by accessing the retailer’s normal website via the app - almost all of them take part – your ordinary purchasing will contribute to school funds.

183 of you have already signed up to this and we have so far raised £2309.91 – by doing absolutely nothing.

Holidays, insurance, supermarket shopping, department stores and most of the chain retailers will contribute: Christmas shopping can be a huge money earner for us. If you haven’t signed up yet please do so

Finally, if you want the simplest method of contributing, next time you’re on ParentPay you’ll see a tab labelled Parents’ Association. Using this you can make a straightforward donation for any amount you choose.
