Social Issues

Year 12 sociology students were invited to create placards on a wide range of social issues. Some chose to recreate placards used in historical protests, others designed their own. Students had to explore the particular social issue chosen and find out whether the protests then led to social change! We have examples from all over the world, including; gun violence, abortion rights, amazon rainforest, racism in football, feminist movements, war protests and many more. They really enjoyed this task and have learnt more about how sociology can be used to create social change for the better and the importance of the right to protest.
