National Allocation Day – 1st March 2022

Depending on the method used in applying for a school place, you will receive either an email during the afternoon of 1st March 2022 or a letter will be sent on 1st March from your Local Authority notifying you of the school place your child has been allocated for September 2022.

Your allocation will be available through your online account once all emails have been sent.

If your application to this school has been successful, you will receive a letter from the school confirming the offer of the place. We would ask that you accept or decline your place and return the schools forms by 9th March.

If you have not been successful in your application to this school, letters will be sent out on 1st March 2022 with information regarding your child's position on the continuing interest list and also information about how to appeal. Do not contact the school before you receive this letter.

 

Continuing Interest

Following National Allocation Day, all applicants who listed St Clement Danes School higher than the school they have been allocated will automatically be rolled onto the continuing interest list. Please inform the school or the Local Authority if you do not wish to remain on the list.

You will not remain on this schools continuing interest list if you have been allocated a school you ranked higher than this school.

First continuing interest Applicants allocated a different school at this time will be contacted by the Local Authority on w/c 21st March 2022.

Second (and final) round of continuing interest if you are allocated a different school you will be contacted by the Local Authority on w/c commencing 25th  April 2022. If further vacancies occur they will be filled as they arise from the continuing interest list. The continuing interest list will continue until the end of the autumn term 2022 at which time if applicants wish to remain on the list they will need to complete an in-year application form.

It is worth noting that the school receive few withdrawals at this stage and it is therefore important that you make alternative arrangements for your child by accepting a place at another secondary school. There is no statistical analysis, from one year to the next, as to how many places will be accepted or declined by applicants. 


Appeals

All unsuccessful applicants are entitled to appeal. 

If you wish to appeal against the Governors’ decision not to award you a place you will need to either

  • Hertfordshire parents can access the online appeals system via their admissions account.  
  • Parents who live out-of-county or who applied on paper should use the Hertfordshire County Council appeals online system and will need to contact Hertfordshire County Council Customer Service Centre on 0300 123 4043 in order to obtain their registration details to gain access.

Hertfordshire County Council are organising all of St Clement Danes appeals. From their information you will note that the Authority will require your completed Appeal Form to be returned to them by 4:00pm on 1st April 2022. It is possible for you to remain on the Continuing Interest list without lodging an appeal.
