ESU Regional Finals

St Clement Danes School was well-represented at the Regional Finals of the English Speaking Union (ESU) Competition.

Having succeeded in the previous three rounds, the team of Year 10s showed admirable speaking skills at the competition held at Wycombe Abbey on 11th March, 2023. 

The team was comprised of Johnny May, Chairperson; Mirren Renganathan, Speaker and Toby Lidster, Questioner.

Speaking entirely without notes, Mirren impressed the audience and judges with his presentation of a challenging topic:  ‘Monopolistic multi-national corporations are a threat to democracy.’

It was a prestigious event and even though the team did not win, they were praised by the judges for their performance. Congratulations to the students on their achievements!
