STEM students win Shell's Bright Ideas Challenge !

Many congratulations to Team "STEMgineers" ( Year 7 students Nick and Sarosh and Year 9 students Knushnaz and Alexander) who are the Regional Winners of Shell's "The Bright Ideas Challenge 2018". Participating teams had to address the question "What will cities look like in 2050? How will they be powered to be vibrant, healthy and clean places to live?"  The competition invited young people to use their creativity, problem solving, teamwork and STEM skills to devise innovative solutions that could power cities of the future. The team's project involved researching the use of thermo-electric pads to turn the heat difference between two places into electricity.

As the Regional Winner, the team has won an array of fantastic prizes. They were awarded £1500 cash for the benefit of the school, cash vouchers for the team and a funded VIP London experience at Make the Future Live 2018, Shell’s festival of ideas and innovation, on Thursday 5 July and Friday 6 July 2018.

Well done to all team members on this fabulous success!
