Cashless Catering

At St Clement Danes School we operate a “cashless” system for the purchase of food and snacks, which offers advantages for both parents and students of the school.

Students will be issued with a ‘swipe card’ on the first day of school and will be advised on how to use the system.

For your convenience, and to assist us in our administration of the service, the preferred method of paying money into the system is by cheque made payable to “St Clement Danes School”. Please write the full name of the student and “Year 7”on the back of the cheque and place in an envelope. In the first instance we are asking that the cheque and the enclosed form are sent to the School by post – marked for the attention of “The Cashless Catering System” by 14th July 2005, to ensure your child has a “swipe card” on their first day. This first cheque should be for New Year 7 students ONLY. Please do not include any brothers or sisters who are currently at the school. Subsequent payments can be made at any time by sending in a cheque with the student.

One of the benefits of the system is to ensure that your money is used by your child to purchase lunch. By paying by cheque this is ensured, however, should you wish your child to bring ‘dinner money’ to school this is also possible. There are two Automatic Cash Revaluation Units located within the school to accept £2, £1, 50p, 20p and 10p to be entered into the system. (Notes can also be accepted at one of the Revaluation Units.) Please note no cash will be accepted at the food counter ‘till points’, except on the induction evening of 13th July.

Certain data will be held on the system to enable accurate operation. This will include your child’s name, class, photo, account balance and meal entitlement. This data will be handled under the guidelines of the data protection act and only used by parties directly involved with the system. If you have any concerns please contact the school Finance Manager, Mrs Pat Heaps.

Please help to assure your child of a smooth introduction to the school by returning cheques before the end of term.
