Engineering Diploma

Since September 2009 St. Clement Danes has been delivering a Level 2 Engineering Diploma to Sixth Form Students. It is a one-year course delivered in collaboration with West Herts. College. Typically students spend four days per week in school and one day at West Herts College in Watford.

The Engineering diploma includes the delivery of Level 2 functional skills in English and Maths, as well as an ICT qualification – the Certificate in Digital Applications (CIDA).

Students benefit from a learning suite of 15 computers and are being introduced to industry standard CAD/CAM in the form of laser cutters and CNC milling machines. They are also learning how to use Pro Engineer Design software and benefitting from the experience of visiting speakers who work in the engineering industry.
