Christmas Card Campaign 2020

The sixth form at St Clement Danes School organised their annual Christmas Card Campaign, albeit in a slightly different format this year. The Christmas Card Campaign aims to support the elderly and vulnerable members of our local community. The sixth form Charities Committee teamed up with local care providers, Sunrise and Beaumont, and Christchurch to help organise and deliver Christmas Cards to local residents who may be without family and friends nearby, with some facing the heart-breaking reality of Christmas all alone this year. The school were provided with a list of names and those students who expressed an interest in signing up for the campaign were asked to bring in a signed Christmas Card for their allocated card recipient. Due to covid-19 the cards were stored, untouched, for at least 72 hours before being delivered to the relevant care home or church. All staff and students involved in the campaign ensured that they adhered to the necessary covid-19 safeguarding procedures. Thank you to Mrs Edwards, Assistant Director of Sixth Form and our Charities Committee in their organisation of this special campaign. It was wonderful to see how many students became involved, showing their kindness and compassion for those around them most in need of comfort, particularly at this time of year.
