Student William Pettitt moves to senior category in British Karting Championships

Year 10 student William Pettitt has moved from Junior karting this year to the Senior category. This is a big step for any junior as the senior grid is made up of older drivers with many years’ experience on their shoulders.  It is a challenging time learning to cope with the tough driving of older teenagers and adults.  Will is competing in two Championships this year.  The first is the Senior X30 Super One National Championship and, after four rounds, he is in 12th position.  William’s aim is to gain a top ten place in this new category.  He is the youngest driver in this Championship having made an ambitious move to Seniors relatively early but is beginning to find his feet.  This Senior Championship is arguably the toughest in Europe and it had 70 entries from the top Senior drivers in the country so Will’s 12th place at the moment is very impressive.

William has also entered the MSA British Senior UK Championship, and following 2 rounds so far is currently standing at 8th position.  This is a tough senior championship with the added difficulty of using special tyres that need to be ‘managed’ during the race.  Will is hoping for a top 5 position in this Championship, and with four more rounds to go, we wish William every success in his future races!

William has received sponsorship from St Clement Danes School, and is grateful for this support. William thanks the school for supporting him on his website - please see below:
